Kelly Harris-DeBerry is the author of Freedom Knows My Name.  She has served as a Poets & Writers, Inc. coordinator and as guest poetry editor for Bayou Magazine. She helped design Literary Cleveland’s Breakthrough Writing Residency and served as its inaugural poetry mentor. She sits on the advisory committee for Maps to the Next World, an initiative of the NEA and the Smithsonian. She has received fellowships from the Fine Arts Work Center and Cave Canem.
