Leslie Bary

Leslie Bary teaches Hispanic literature and culture at UL Lafayette. She writes on modern poetry and representations of race, among other topics in modern Latin American and Comparative Literature. She has translated Oswald de Andrade and other Brazilian modernist poets, Cuban fiction writer Mirta Yáñez, and two Peruvian poets, Pedro Granados and César Moro. Moro's The Equestrian Turtle and Other Poems, trans. Leslie Bary and Esteban Quispe, appeared in 2025 from Cardboard House Press.
