Judy Lea Steele is an interdisciplinary writer, performer and producer. Her experimental poetry speaks with dual and dichotomous voice, self-ventriloquy. Text often grows from the page into multimedia live performance and cinepoetry - multiple lives, multiple voicing, self-ventriloquism. Her work has been shared and recognized in New Orleans, Chicago, Los Angeles and at the Eugene O’Neill National Playwrights Conference. Recent news includes an Official Selection with Excellence for her cinepoem, Eve's Ribs Lilith's Lungs from the Women’s International Film Festival, winner selection in the 2024 Patty Friedmann Competition for poetry and hybrid video poem work in Trampoline Poetry, among others.
