Anne Babson

Anne Babson’s work has been published on five continents. Her first book, The White Trash Pantheon won a prize. She is the author of five poetry collections, including Polite Occasions, which marries Emily Post’s etiquette books to The Book of Revelation, Messiah, which sets Handel’s Messiah Oratorio in the American heartland, The Bunker Book, which looks at the pandemic through the Medieval Plague Tale genre, and forthcoming in 2026 from Unsolicited Press, Crossing State Lines, a book in which Walt Whitman goes fishing with Liz Cheney. She is also the librettist for Su Lina Tan’s opera Lotus Lives which has been performed in New York, Boston, Montreal, and some college towns. She lives in New Orleans and teaches at Southeastern Louisiana University.
