Iris Jamahl Dunkle is an award-winning literary biographer, essayist, and poet. Her latest books include the bestselling biography Riding Like the Wind: The Life of Sanora Babb (University of California Press, 2025) and her fourth poetry collection West : Fire : Archive (The Center for Literary Publishing, 2021).  Dunkle curates Finding Lost Voices, a weekly blog dedicated to resurrecting the voices of women who have been marginalized or forgotten. She has garnered recognition through awards and fellowships from esteemed institutions such as Biographers International, Millay Arts, and the Vermont Studio Center.
