Sabreen Jolley

Sabreen Sudan-Jolley is an Educator, Poet and Author.

She was born in Pasadena, California and raised in Pine Bluff, Arkansas. She later relocated to Atlanta then to Brooklyn, NYC. She now resides in Louisiana with her husband and her passion for storytelling.

Sabreen is a graduate of Clark Atlanta University (class of 2018) with a degree in communications. Upon graduating, Sabreen took a year to travel to various states and countries to perform poetry and develop the grit she needed to develop her craft.

She wrote her first book, Same Sky, Different Light, her senior year of college. She has performed in various states across America and abroad.

Sabreen was semi-finalist at the legendary Apollo Theatre Amateur Night in Harlem and also made it to the main stage at America’s Got Talent.

Her work and community engagements have been featured in the Panther Newspaper, The Pine Bluff Commercial, Voyage Atlanta, WCLK (The local take), The HBCU Times, AJC, and the Jamaica Observer, National Black Writers Conference, and The Root Work Journal among others.

She was selected as a residential artist for the Chateau Orquevaux French Residency in France where she was able to work among other artists and writers to further develop her skill.

Sabreen’s favorite quote is, “your gift is the thing you do the best with the least amount of effort.” She knows that soon, everything she has ever dreamed will one day be at the palms of her hands with intentional work, community, God and her gift.

She recently took a hiatus due to some health issues and is now excited to get back into the writing and poetry world to share her touching story.
