John Burns is associate professor of Spanish at Rockford University. He has translated numerous poets from Chile, Mexico, and Spain. He and Rubén Medina collaborated to edit and translate an anthology of Beat poetry into Spanish, Una tribu de salvajes improvisando a las puertas del infierno (Aldus/ UANL, 2012). His book Contemporary Hispanic Poets: Cultural Production in the Global, Digital Age was published by Cambria Press in 2015.
