Martha Serpas has published four poetry collections including The Dirty Side of the Storm and Double Effect. She co-produced Veins in the Gulf, a documentary about southern Louisiana’s land loss crisis. She teaches creative writing at the University of Houston and works as a hospital and psychedelic chaplain. In 2021 she founded Scripts, a program placing graduate student writers as teaching fellows at UH’s medical school.
