Sha'Condria "iCon" Sices-Sibley

Sha’Condria “iCON” (Sices-Sibley) is a poet, writer, multi-inspired creative, visual artist, healer, and visionary, among many other sacred honors. An Alexandria, Louisiana native and longtime New Orleans-based artist, her offerings span across page, stage, canvas, theater, music, talk radio, short film, classrooms, conferences, and communities. Raised in the southern missionary church tradition and having studied Biology/ Pre-Med at Xavier University of Louisiana, Community Health Sciences (Maternal and Child Health) at Tulane University School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine, and currently training to become a birth doula, her art naturally intersects with healing, wellness, and spirituality, while centering Blk Women and reverence for nature and the Divine feminine.

Sha'Coondria shares the gifts of poetry and creative writing inside prisons, juvenile detention centers, and schools, has toured the college circuit, and, for over a decade, works creating, organizing, and hosting arts-driven, community-centered events . A multiple-time national poetry slam champion and multiple-time viral spoken word artist, she appeared on TV One's Verses and Flow, at various festivals including mainstage at Essence Music Festival and New Orleans Jazz Festival, and her work has been featured on many platforms including Huffington PostFor HarrietTeen Vogue, and BBC World Radio. She is also featured on multiple recording projects alongside Grammy award-winning artists. Sha'Condria is the 2022-23 Dr. Doris Derby Creative Spark Awardee with Junebug Productions in New Orleans, a 2023 SIPP Culture Rural Performance Production Lab Visiting Artist Resident, a 2023 National Performance Network (NPN) Take Notice Artist, and the author of My Name Is Pronounced Holy: A Collection of Poems, Prayers, Rememberings, and Reclamations.
