Jim Elmborg

James Elmborg is Professor and Director of the School of Library and Information Studies at the University of Alabama.  Before coming to Alabama in 2017, he was Professor of Library and Information Science at the University of Iowa.  He has a Ph.D. in English from the University of Kansas.  His dissertation explored Edward Dorn's Gunslinger as a cultural artifact of the 1960s.  Research for the project led through the archival collections of little magazines from the sixties.  He has published both on Edward Dorn and the sixties and on little magazines as a challenge to library collections.
